Chaoyin
(Tidal Sound) Temple |
|
This temple in Western Dagu on the western bank of the Haihe River
in Tanggu District was first built in 1404 during the Ming Dynasty
with money donated by local people. It was rebuilt by a decree of
Emperor Jiajing in the Ming Dynasty who renamed it the Tidal Sound
Temple. Since the Tidal Sound Temple is close to the river and the
sea, the area is noted for its seafood. There are crucian carps in
February, small shrimps in March, perches in April, yellow croakers
in June, sea crabs in July and August and giant prawns in September
and October. Visitors who come to see the sights can enjoy them to
their hearts' content. |
