In 1984,Tianjin was on the list for the first batch
of coastal cities to be opened to the world. The Tianjin Economic
& Technological Development Area(TEDA) was established in 1985. In
1991, the Tianjin Port Free Trade Zone(TPFTZ)and the Tianjin High-tech
Industrial Park(THIP) were set up with the approval of the State Council.
Following this, development zones have been successively opened in
12 districts and counties. They form the foundation of a multi-layer,
broad scope pattern of opening to the world. The development zones
are rationally distributed and mutually complementary; full opportunity
is given to the characteristics of each zone to develop together with
the overall development plan for Tianjin. Achievements of the development
Areas are well acknowledged. |
