對於網民熱切關注的紐約華人狀告CNN一案，記者將從不同角度分階段進行跟蹤報道。
今天下午2點整，記者再次如約來到海明律師事務所，海明律師向在場的記者出示一份CNN總部發來的公函，然後詳細向記者介紹這份公函的情況。海明律師說，2008年5月6日，CNN負責法律與國際事務的副總裁大衛?維格蘭特(David Vigilante)代表CNN以公函的形式向我們律師事務所發來正式道歉信，在這份信中，CNN的高級官員引用卡弗蒂的談話說，他對於當初攻擊中國人民的辱華言論感到後悔(regret)，他認為這使在中國的公民和生活在美國的華人受到侮辱，他也說到對不起(sorry)。海明律師說，CNN的負責人把卡弗蒂的道歉又在這份公函中加以重復，寄給了我們，證明了這是CNN到目前為止的官方立場，是regret和sorry。
海明律師說，這是律師事務所目前取得的初步的、階段性的成果，雖不能說是大獲全勝，但相對於前一段時間CNN對中國人民的抗議置之不理、表現出極度傲慢的態度來說，現在CNN終於用正式公函的形式向我們表示道歉。這是世界上全體華人努力抗爭的結果。
